Welcome To Eurimbla.

Eurimbla Red Polls is one of the largest Red Poll Studs in Australia with over 200 breeders. Established in 1974 by the Coghlan family "Eurimbla" is situated at the base of the Tabletop Mountain Range just outside Albury in southern NSW.

Eurimbla History.

Eurimbla Red Poll stud was established in 1974 with the Eurimbla prefix being an Aboriginal word relating to the colour red. The foundation females for the stud were seven heifers that were purchased from the Ingleden stud of Bill Coghlan. The stud was first located at Glen Innes in northern New South Wales, then in 1982 it was relocated to the current address at Gerogery in southern New South Wales.

After 1974 selected bloodlines were introduced from every state in Australia, except Queensland, and also from the United States. Cattle and/or semen were purchased from Applecross, Bundaleer, Cooeeyana, Huntly, Ingleden and Ingleden Park, Luchii and Red Phoenix in New South Wales; from Wyena in Victoria; from Conmurra in Tasmania; from Broomfield, Nyoka, Oakwood and Pentwyn Vale in South Australia; from Yongerellen in Western Australia; and from Marc and Pinpur in the United States.

Notable amongst the many purchases, in terms of their influence on Eurimbla, was buying our chosen bloodlines from the dispersal of the Broomfield, Conmurra and Ingleden/Ingleden Park studs. These studs each made a significant contribution to the Red Poll breed in Australia.

The Eurimbla herd now comprises more than 200 breeding age females. All the cattle are run under commercial conditions, with every animal having to prove his or her worth to remain in the herd.
